Acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays prior to the 2022 season in exchange for Isaac Paredes, outfielder Austin Meadows played just 42 games during his two seasons with the Detroit Tigers. The 28-year-old stepped away from the team after only six games in 2023 to seek help for anxiety issues.
Meadows looked like a budding star during his time in Tampa Bay, including a 33-homer, 3.9-WAR season in 2019 when he was an All-Star and a 27-homer, 106-RBI showing in 2021 before he was traded. If he is ready to return to the field, he could wind up being one of the steals of the offseason in the right situation.
