On a balcony outside the 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley, where Rapper Takeoff was allegedly playing dice with his uncle and bandmate Quavo, the incident occurred at approximately 02:30 local time (07:30 GMT).

A few hours prior to the shooting, Takeoff shared a photo of himself smoking in a bowling alley. 

Tuesday afternoon at a news conference, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner asked any witnesses present to come forward.

He pleaded with someone to help and asked, ‘Please step forward, send the info to us so we can bring some closure to this family who’s struggling right now.’

The Investigation

According to Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner at a news conference on Tuesday, at roughly 2:34 a.m. local time, police received a call about a shooting that was in progress. 

When police got to the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where a private party was taking place, they discovered Rapper Take off dead on the crime scene. 

The number of guests at the private party, according to the police, was between 40 and 50. 

Quavo was visible in an orange shirt and with other people gathering around Takeoff in the video that TMZ received from the scene. 

Quavo screamed for someone to call for assistance as they attempted to move him before setting him back down.

According to Finner, at least two people discharged firearms, and the two additional victims of strikes suffered non-life-threatening wounds. They were driven in private vehicles to hospitals.

The health status of the two-man is not known. Quavo suffered no harm.

Police are looking for more information about the shooting after saying that some gathering attendees, which took place inside a bowling alley, fled the scene. There have been no reported arrests.

Following the shooting death of US rapper Takeoff, aged 28, hip-hop artists and fans have paid tribute to him.

Takeoff’s attorney Drew Findling said, ‘the rapper’s passing was a tragic loss, particularly for Atlanta, where he was born and raised.’

Ja Rule shared an emoji of a dove and stated, ‘Love to friends and family,’ while Lil Pump commented, ‘Forever a legend, I can’t believe this.’

Rapper Dave, a Brit Award winner, posted a number of images of Takeoff alongside the caption, ‘My brother… days we spent together were precious.’

Khloe Kardashian, a reality celebrity, stated on Twitter: ‘It’s really terrible. Wow! for what? May God comfort all those who are suffering. These foolish acts ought to stop immediately. Really sad.’
