Richard Daniel Parker – Metropolitan Funeral

Richard Daniel Parker was born on March 18, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Zadie and Walter Parker Sr. Both of his parents proceeded him in death along with one brother (Michael) and one sister (Denise). Richard departed this earthly life on April 9, 2022.

Richard attended and graduated from George Gershwin Elementary School and Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, Illinois.

After graduating high school, Richard served in the United States Navy for almost 27 years. Richard excelled in his Navy career which also allowed him to see most of the world outside of the United States. He was deployed on seven different ships. He also worked various mission critical Navy roles from boiler technician to Mission Propulsion Officer (MPA). Richard was a valuable asset to the United States Navy and eventually received the title of Chief Warrant Officer. Warrant Parker was commissioned in 2006 at Center for Naval Engineering Command. He concluded his long-distinguished career at Surface Lant in Norfolk, VA on April 28, 2014. After retiring, Richard worked for a brief period of time as a Program Manager for General Dynamics. He then graduated with honors (CUM LAUDE), from the University of Phoenix. Richard was three courses away from completing his master’s degree in psychology.

Richard enjoyed cooking, eating good food, watching the Chicago Bears play, socializing with family, friends, and traveling with his wife, Sabrina Parker, of 16 years.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful wife, Sabrina, two beautiful daughters Ravon and Raven, a stepson Chris (Laci) Carter and a granddaughter Chloe Carter; eight sisters: Brenda Landers, Bertha (Clifton) Smith, Virginia (Jack) Parker, Katie (Larry) Scott, Anita Parker Sprewell, Annette Parker, Ernestine (Jerome) Freeman, and Zadie (Eon) Lamar, four brothers: John (Deloris) Landers, Kennedy (Willie Mae) Parker, and Walter (Delisa) Parker Jr., his Auntie Katie, who was like a mother to him; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, early childhood friends, extended relatives, and acquaintances.
