At an event in London promoting his recently released book, The Second Half, Keane said that Ferguson's big strength was having a feel for the group he was working with.

He told one particularly funny story about match against Tottenham, when Keane received the exact team talk he was looking for from his boss.

I thought I knew what the group might need, that we didn't need a big team talk. It was Tottenham at home. I thought please don't go on about Tottenham, we all know what Tottenham is about, they are nice and tidy but we'll f-----g do them. He came in and said: 'Lads, it's Tottenham', and that was it. Brilliant.

Keane played under Ferguson throughout his 12-and-a-half year spell at Old Trafford, where he won seven Premier League titles.
