The Masters wasn't short on drama midway through the fourth round for Scheffler, Åberg, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa, all of whom were tied at six under.
However, the latter three made crucial mistakes down the stretch, each making double bogey at least once (and Morikawa twice).
That opened the door for Scheffler to walk in and pick out a second green jacket, and he did so in style by shooting five under during the final 11 holes.
Birdies on Nos. 8-10 vaulted him into the lead.

A bogey on No. 11 temporarily set him back, but he still held a three-shot edge on the field at the time with his competitors struggling.
Scheffler then added to the cushion late with birdies on Nos. 13, 14 and 16 to put this one away.

Morikawa, Homa and Tommy Fleetwood each finished at four under to round out the top five.
Scheffler is now a two-time champion after his three-shot victory in 2022 thanks to a 10-under result that year.
Per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, Scheffler is the fourth-youngest golfer to win at least two Masters tournaments. He's also the fifth golfer ever to win two Masters by three or more strokes.
The World's No. 1 golfer began this tournament as the clear favorite, and that sentiment held true after his tremendous performance. The tee-to-green king is simply a machine, and fans and analysts alike admired his dominance.
Mike Lupica @MikeLupicaScottie Scheffler is playing one of the best final rounds at a major you will ever see in your life. If you love golf, you love the guy's game, his grace, everything.
Gerry Callahan @GerryCallahanScheffler just wrecked a good Masters with four birdies on the back nine. No one is Tiger but he's like Tiger in that he's better than EVERYONE at everything.

There's no weakness. And he's clutch as well. Just a machine.
Matthew Berry @MatthewBerryTMRDamn what a round and tournament by Scottie Scheffler

mark lye @letitflyeI can't believe how good Scottie is around the greens. Hard to beat a great ball striker who can up and down it as good as Phil. Congrats to number one in the world Scottie Scheffler.
Kevin Clark @bykevinclarkScottie Scheffler is basically 2013 Peyton Manning and people think it's boring. Couldn't be me.
Joe Pompliano @JoePomplianoHow good has Scottie Scheffler been this year?

Based on the standard 10% cut for wins, his caddie, Ted Scott, has already earned $1.2 million this year.

That would place him 54th out of 200 PGA Tour players and ahead of guys like Viktor Hovland and Rickie Fowler.

Not bad.
Dan Rapaport @Daniel_RapaportRunning out of superlatives for Scottie Scheffler. The way he bounced back from the bogey on 7. Just absolutely sucked the life out of this tournament. Held steady while everyone else made crucial mistakes. Get the sense if this Masters was 90 holes he might win by 10. A horse.
Evan Fox @evanfoxyBearded Scottie Scheffler is by far and away the best golfer on the planet. Second best isn't even remotely close. Doesn't matter what course. Doesn't matter how important the tournament. The guy just struts down the fairway and dominates. Doesn't give a single damn.

Josh Antmann @JoshAntmannI genuinely think Scheffler is going to rule golf for the next few years. He is so crazy good. No weakness. A temperament to die for. Only injury might hold him back. I'm not even sure a snapped ankle would stop him. The guy is sensational.

Aberg to run him close though 😉.
Scheffler's victory marked his third win in four tournaments after he also took the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship in back-to-back weeks. He finished second by one stroke to Stephan Jaeger at the Texas Children's Houston Open two weeks ago before taking care of business at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday.
