Personal Statement
I began my running career in 2013 during the summer prior to entering my Freshman year in High School. I started Cross Country camp in August of 2013 and transition in the spring of 2013 to run distance track primarily 800m & 1600m. I realized that i had found a sport/sports that I could not only excel in individually but also be able to contribute to an overall team environment.
I also compete in High School soccer at Tesoro High School and am a member of the Club Soccer team West Coast Futbol Club (United White) under coach Nick Cucik. My club soccer team recently won State Cup 2014, Regional Cup 2014, and went on to win National Presidents Cup in South Carolina July 2014.
I was selected to compete on the varsity team for both cross country and distance track under Coach Pattie Fasola for my Freshman year and my current Sophomore year. I was awarded all county for Orange County achieving top 7 overall during OC Champs 2013. I also earned a varsity letter for both Cross Country and Track my freshman year. I was given the "Rising Star Award" for Cross Country and "Titan Award" for distance track.
Current career results for cross country:
I have been taught that to compete in athletics is a privilege that can only be granted through academic achievement and can only be sustained through hard work, discipline & dedication. I also volunteer through World Ventures Volunturism tours. My 1st volunteer trip was to Casa Del Hoga orphanage in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. It was an extremely rewarding experiencing that i will continue to participate in for years to come.
My goal is to attend a university that will allow me to build a solid academic foundation as well as allow me to compete at the highest level in Cross Country and Track. I hope to become a positive influence and role model for young children, through academics, athletics, and through volunteer work.
