From the onset of “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”, a listener may conclude that the Spin Doctors’ frontman, Chris Barron, has an issue with women. But such is not the case. Secondly, they would logically deduce that he has beef with his ex-girlfriend, which isn’t the issue neither. Rather “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” is a real-life person but not the singer’s lover. Who is she then? Barron penned this song specifically about his stepmom.

Also, as implied by the title, she’s the type who despite such unfavorable conduct feels as if she can never be in the wrong.
But ultimately the singer has a love/hate relationship with her. For instance, amidst his beefing, he is able to admit that she is a good cook. Moreover at first it is apparent that he has some type of ill will towards her. But later he recants that sentiment and instead expresses one tantamount to being willing to self-sacrifice for her.
Indeed Mr. Barron himself has stated that the true meaning of this song is about “life being shorty” and an ideology of people “be(ing) nice to one another”. So what he is really trying to tell “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” is to cool down. And even though he has a legitimate beef with her, he is also ready to lead by example, stating his wherewithal to assist her if need be as well as his hopes that she is doing okay.
