Steelers 80th Anniversary Jersey: Throwback Uniforms Are Hideously Ugly | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors

Let's get one thing clear—I think it is awesome that the Pittsburgh Steelers are rolling out the old uniforms that the team (then the Pirates) wore in 1934. Paying a tribute to the past is always cool, especially for a team with as much history as the Steelers.

I mean, c'mon—just look at these atrocities.

Yuck. Just yuck.

I'm not sure if these look more like prison uniforms or like a bumblebee participating in a track meet. And wait, it gets better—that picture didn't include the pants.

Good lord, why? Why would you allow this? Why would you allow fleshy pajama pants to be worn during a football game?

There's only one thing to say about those pants.

Okay, okay, I'm probably piling on a little bit here. Throwback uniforms are always in danger of being ugly, seeing as fashions change, the amount of money teams could spend on jerseys has dramatically increased throughout the years, etc.

It's of little surprise a uniform from 1934 would look so unfashionable to us today. And we need to keep in mind that these were the Great Depression years, so having a team or uniforms at all was impressive.

Still, these must have been considered hideous, even back then. Sorry, I can't get over it. These uniforms are monstrosities.

Power to the Steelers' organization for honoring their history. And power to the players that have to wear these terrible uniforms, too.
