At UFC 271, a Middleweight Championship rematch is going to take place between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker. Previously they met at UFC 243 in October 2019 and interim champion Adesanya unified the middleweight title.

After grabbing the title in UFC 243, The Last Stylebender defended the title three times against Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori. So, the Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker 2 fight will be Adesanya’s fourth title defense.

On the other hand, Robert Whittaker appeared in three bouts after losing to Adesanya. And he won all three fights. Nevertheless, he will start UFC 271 fight with a 23-5 record and certainly he will be looking to win the title.

Adesanya lost only one fight in his career, which was against Jan Błachowicz at UFC 259. However, it was his Light Heavyweight debut.
