His early life & career 

Ken Block was already popular in the world of motorsports before he rocketed to internet fame with his daring stunts behind the wheel. 

His career with Hoonigan Racing Division (formerly Monster World Rally Team) saw him breaking records, mythologically doing donuts through a hotel lobby, and performing rally car moves inspired by skateboard tricks.

After selling his ownership of DC Shoes, Block turned his business focus to Hoonigan Industries, an apparel brand aimed at auto enthusiasts. As their “Head Hoonigan In Charge” (HHIC), Block has taken his skills from racing to expand Hoonigan’s reach far beyond the racing and apparel worlds. 

Through the “Hoonigan School of Hoonage,” he created a series of instructional videos for all levels of riders and drivers on how to better navigate turns and maintain control even in extreme situations.

Ken Block tragically lost his life in a snowmobile accident

Starting his career in 2005, he quickly rose to fame after being named Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship. 

His next competitive successes included a few medals at X Games rallycross events, as well as appearances in World Rally Championship races. 

In addition, Mr. Block participated in many extreme sports, including skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. Ken Block tragically lost his life in a snowmobile accident that occurred on January 2nd, 2022 in Utah’s Wasatch County. 

According to reports from the Sheriff’s Office, the fatal mishap took place when the former racer accidentally drove off a steep slope while riding around Mill Hollow and became crushed beneath his toppled vehicle.

Despite medical aid being administered at the scene of the accident, he could not be revived.
