While Olivia Dunne has become a social media star, it looks as though Sydney Smith is ready to challenge her spot as America's top gymnastics social influencer.

Smith, who attends Southern Connecticut State University, has 2 million followers on TikTok to go along with her 310,000 followers on Instagram.

While those numbers are impressive, she still has a long way to go to catch Dunne, who has 12 million online followers.

Smith challenging Dunne

Smith's rise is very impressive given she competes at a Division Two college, while Dunne goes to SEC powerhouse LSU, who finished fourth in the NCAA Championships.

Nevertheless, Smith's content has struck a cord with fans, so much so that she even accused Dunne of copying her.

It all happened after Dunne uploaded a video earlier this week of her performing a backflip on the beach with the caption: "Beachnastics for the win :)."

This didn't sit well with Smith, who performed the same flip on July 26 with the caption: "#beachgymnastics in France."

As a result, Smith had quite the message for Dunne in another video, stating: "This is like the second, third time you've copied me.

"I mean I love my fans and all, don't get me wrong.

"I don't care when people copy me.

"But I feel like I should get some credit for my creativity."

She also added the caption: "I mean shi I've copied too. But likee."

Smith started gymnastics when she was seven and trained at the Capital Gymnastics National Training Center in Burke, Virginia in 2014.
