TLC hit show 7 Little Johnstons saw Amber and husband Trent recently open their doors up to welcome a new member to the family.
Last season, the couple agreed to welcome a foreign exchange student into their home to live with them alongside their 5 other children. They planned to show him their culture and to help him learn English during his stay.
Now, he’s actually entered the Johnston home and fans wonder exactly who the newbie is.
Who is the foreign exchange student?
The exchange student is a fellow little person, Joose Jeskanin. All the way from Finland, he flew from his homeland to the US to learn English and experience a different part of the world – and who better to stay with than the Johnstons?
All family members got on very well with Joose and said they had more of a “family-ship than a friendship” with him.
During the season, Amber posted countless Instagram stories and by the looks of it, not only Amber and Trent but the kids all got on with him exceedingly well.

Joose’s stay with the Johnstons explored
Amber and Trent’s main goal before Joose came to the US was to show him and introduce him to as many new activities as they possibly could.
Introducing him to the classic American lifestyle, the Johnston’s took Joose to a football game. They Instagrammed the event and from what we could see, Joose was loving it.
On Halloween, they also taught Joose how to carve a Jack-o-lantern, something he had never done before in Finland.
He also got the opportunity to try different foods that he had previously not tried. For example, we got to see Joose try crabs for the first time during his stay, which we can confidently say, he loved.

Will the family be visiting him in Finland?
After having Joose stay with the family for three months, they grew incredibly close to their fellow little friend and saying goodbye to him was a difficult thing to do.
The family said, “absence makes the heart grow fonder” and the couple, alongside their kids, are planning to visit Joose, this time in his country.
They hope to visit him next summer and said they want to “take the time to experience and understand his culture.”
Fans are over the moon to hear this news and hope that the adventure will be filmed for our pleasure as well as theirs. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed!
