The Netflix series “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” premiered on Netflix in 2022. The series will focus on the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 people between 1978 and 1991. 

Evan Peters plays the role of Jeffrey Dahmer. Peters is best known for his many appearances on the FX anthology series American Horror Story and his performance as Detective Colin Zabel in the HBO crime drama limited series Mare of Easttown, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award in 2021, are what make him most well-known.

Evan revealed that he began with a “blank slate” in a conversation with Netflix regarding his preparation for the part. “I didn’t even know the building was an apartment complex; all I could see was the hazmat suits and the blue vat coming out of it. Later, I discovered that most of his crimes were carried out at the Oxford apartments.

“Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” is set to be a harrowing look at the mind of a serial killer. With Ross Lynch in the lead role, it is sure to be a must-watch for true crime fans.

Viewers call the new Netflix series about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer terrifying, and Evan Peters revealed that he was “extremely afraid” to play the part.

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, presently at No. 1 on the Top 10 list in the US, is currently available on Netflix, so chances are good that you’ve at least seen the poster for it. 

Dahmer, a television series created and scripted by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, tells the story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s savage killings of men and young boys between 1978 and 1991.

In contrast to earlier Dahmer-centered films, this Netflix series looks significantly more closely at how the Milwaukee Police Department’s failure to catch Dahmer ultimately resulted in the murder of countless Black men.

Dahmer illuminates the racism, homophobia, and other issues that allowed Dahmer to carry out murders for more than ten years.

The actor who plays Dahmer in the show, Evan Peters, recently opened out to Netflix about how challenging it was to play the serial killer and how it was the most difficult part he had ever played.

Murphy advised Peters to watch Stone Phillips’ interview with the real Dahmer to help him prepare for the part. Peters then read several biographies, listened to the audio of Dahmer speaking to a psychologist/detective, and read the police report of Dahmer’s 1992 confession.

“It was so jaw-dropping that it all really happened that it felt important to be respectful to the victims, the victims’ families, to try and tell the story as authentically as we could,”Peters stated while recalling how disturbing it was for him. 

“I was very scared about all of the things that Dahmer did,” he continued, “and [I knew that] trying to commit to that was absolutely going to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life because I wanted it to be very authentic but in order to do that I was going to have to go to really dark places and stay there for a long period of time.”
