Bret Baier married his wife, Amy Baier, on October 9, 2004. Amy is a Foundation Board Chair at Children's National Hospital.
The couple first met in October 2002 after being set up on a blind date. Amy and Bret went to a Rolling Stones concert on a double date after she flew in from Chicago. Their friends knew they would definitely hit off and be a perfect match. They have been inseparable for over two decades.
Braier dedicated his book, Special Heart: A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Courage and Love, to Amy. He wrote about his oldest son's heart condition in the book and appreciated his wife for being an amazing mother to their children and co-anchor in his life.
The couple frequently attends galas and charity events together. Bret and Amy went to the National Portrait Gallery USA to celebrate "The Portrait Of A Nation Gala" in November 2022. They were at the Kennedy Center on December 4, 2022, to mark the 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors.
Baier and Amy love going on walks together and chatting while getting some exercise. They live about a mile from Georgetown, and even during the winters, they try to make the walk. Sometimes it is their only alone time as he works a lot, especially during the elections.

Baier was raised in the suburb of Barrington and is a Chicago native. She calls herself a midwesterner and values home over anything else.
Amy grew up with a twin brother, Daniel, and brothers, Timothy and John Paul. Her mom and dad still live in the house she was raised in. It is a place for the whole fam to come together and spend the holidays, summers, and special occasions.
Before she met Bret, Amy had just moved back to Chicago after working for Calvin Klein in New York City as a media planner. She bought a condo there and thought she would be living there forever.
After her friend insisted, she agreed to meet Bret. She said Bret was a gentleman with a southern charm to the Country Magazine. She was commuting long distances to Washington DC from Chicago till the week they got married.
She is now recognized for her work with the Children's National Medical Center. She works both with the foundation and executive board.
Amy has 43k followers on her Instagram. She calls herself a fitness junkie and a grateful mom on her Instagram bio. She frequently posts pictures of her husband and kids on social media.
