One week after stealing the show at the 2024 NFL scouting combine with a record time in the 40-yard dash, Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy is now hard at work making a pitch to the reigning Super Bowl champs to draft him.
Speaking to USA Today's Tyler Dragon, Worthy said the Kansas City Chiefs would be a perfect fit for his skill set because he could fill the void left after Tyreek Hill was traded.
"In a perfect world, I definitely would want to go to the Chiefs," Worthy explained. "Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me."
Worthy ran the fastest 40 in combine history when he crossed the finish line in 4.21 seconds.

All of the speed and athleticism testing at the combine looks excellent for Worthy. He ranked in the 96th percentile or better in 40-yard dash, 10-yard split, vertical jump and broad jump.
Worthy's measurables don't paint as strong a picture. He ranks in the 21st percentile in arm length, 18th percentile in height, 14th percentile in wingspan and seventh percentile in hand size.
The most concerning measurable is Worthy weighed in at 165 pounds. According to the MockDraftable.com database, that's a zeroth percentile weight for a wide receiver.
Worthy's 40 time broke the previous record of 4.22 seconds held by John Ross. The Cincinnati Bengals believed in Ross' speed enough to use the ninth overall pick in the 2017 draft on him.
Ross only had one season in the NFL with more than 250 receiving yards. Ironically, he signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs last offseason before informing the team prior to the start of training camp he was retiring.
Hill doesn't have athletic traits in the Mock Draftable database because didn't receive a combine invite in 2016 due to off-field issues when he was in college, including pleading guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation that resulted in him being kicked off Oklahoma State's football team.
B/R's NFL scouting department has Worthy ranked as the ninth-best receiver and No. 50 overall player in the 2024 draft class.
The Chiefs haven't been afraid to bet on athletic traits at wide receiver, particularly since they traded away Hill. They acquired Kadarius Toney during the 2022 season and brought back Mecole Hardman via trade in the middle of last season.
Neither player made a significant difference overall, though they had excellent moments in the past two Super Bowls. Toney caught a touchdown and had the longest punt return in Super Bowl history to set up another score against the Philadelphia Eagles last year.
Hardman caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers in this year's Super Bowl.
If the Chiefs could get Worthy with their second-round pick at No. 64, that wouldn't be a bad investment. He does have to prove his lack of size, specifically in the weight department, won't cause problems when opposing defenses try to press him at the line of scrimmage.
